Autochthon Forest

More commonly known as the Grand Forest, it is most well known for the thick magic the seems to permeate the air in the area. The forest is so named because as one ventures further and further into the forest, the size of the flora and fauna climbs exponentially. Legends tell of daisies with petals the length of cattle and trees so large whole ecosystems form underneath their roots. However, they remain for the most part only legends, as very few travellers that enter the forest return. Only the lumberjacks and hunters of the fortress town Dirthwall make the trip – the lumberjacks pressing the deepest into the woods to return with the legendary heartwood Aira, a wood that through years of training can be forged into armor and weaponry.

Large wolves are known to stalk the Autochthon Forest, and are a constant menace for the Dirthwallian people. They cause the most deaths of their lumberjacks and are known to launch attacks against the city itself with little warning. They are easily distinguishable from regular dire wolves; they are up to seven feet in height and many are seen adorned with rudimentary war paint, braids and similar. In addition, they have been seen harnessing magic and seem to have sway over the smaller creatures of the forest. It is rumoured there are other species of massive creatures that stalk the forest, but if so nobody has run into the other types and lived.

In addition, it is said that a dragon by the name of Arganoth slumbers deep in the forest. Nothing is known about the great creature besides that he is older than the Tiny Kingdom itself, and that he is fond of competition; and even those facts are not agreed upon.
